Explore the surroundings of your holiday home in Zeeland during a cycling trip through the panoramic Zeeland countryside. The junction network allows you to create your own routes, but we have also listed some of our favourite routes for you. Enjoy a beautiful cycle trip through nature during your holiday in Zeeland.

Tour of Noord-Beveland

Explore the island by bike on a tour around Noord-Beveland. The route takes you along the Oosterschelde and Veerse Meer estuaries, through the Zeeland polders and authentic villages such as Colijnsplaat and Kortgene. In the villages, you can enjoy a snack and a drink on a sunny terrace.

Around the Veerse Meer

A beautiful route along the Veerse Meer. Cycle along the Veerse Gatdam towards Veere, a picturesque village you should definitely visit during a holiday in Zeeland. Continue your route and take the ferry from Wolphaartsdijk to Kortgene to cycle back through the polder towards Kamperland.

Crossing the Oosterscheldekering

Cycle through the polders, along the Veerse Meer and through several villages via the Oosterscheldekering towards the forests of Westenschouwen. The Oosterscheldekering is part of the Delta Works and very important in Zeeland's history. A visit to Neeltje Jans and the Delta Works is definitely a must during this route.

Mountain biking in the woods of Westenschouwen

The route has a length of 6 km and is marked with wooden posts with an orange top and black arrows.

Starting point N 51.682122, E 3.710798: Parking A. van de Weydeweg, 4328 PT in Burgh-Haamstede. From Haamstede you drive to Burg (over the Hoge Weg). Follow this road in the direction of Westenschouwen, where a forest path on the right (watchtower) leads to the start of the route. A GPS track file is available. The mountain bike route is located at the most western point of Schouwen-Duiveland in a lively tourist beach and dune area.

The route is designed by Mountainbikeclub X-Treme. The route requires a lot of your skills on the bike. After 1.5 kilometres on the route, the real work starts with a steep climb. The path leads over scattered wood chips. Then go up a steep sand hill. After about 2.5 kilometres, the path rises steeply and you end up in a real staircase descent. This staircase descent is followed by a sandy descent. In dry conditions, this sand descent is more difficult than when the rain has made the ground a little more solid. You also pass a pond. A so-called infiltration pond. A diverse bird population lives here. The next part of the route is a lot easier. Just before the end, there is a very technical section.
